In March last year Gaga became the first user to 9,000,000 followers, but now she has managed to double that figure in just ten months.
Upon reaching the milestone figure, Gaga wrote: "Cannot believe I TwitterMonsters 18,000,000, really rad, was just a few years ago I had almost none."
At the time of writing, Gaga had 18,137,279 followers on Twitter, leaving a trail of celebrities in its wake.
Teen idol Justin Bieber followers 16.5million on the site,while Katy Perry is just under 14 million.
Reality star Kim Kardashian has followers 12.6million, while former Twitter queen Britney Spears has 12.5million.
By comparison, U.S. President Barack Obama has followers 11.96million.
